Women on a Journey is a faith sharing group who encourage each other to learn and grow in relationship with God. Women of every age and expertise are welcome. Discussions about religious-themed books, shared prayer, and strengthening the bonds between women within the St.Tom’s community are the focus.
Our small group meets Wednesday mornings from 9:30 -11:00 am.
What is the New Feminism—and what does the Church’s teaching about being a woman mean for my life?
We recommend that all groups start with Pope John Paul II’s Letter to Women in which he upholds their special place in the family, the Church, and the world.
Whenever people gather to discuss what ails humanity, the voice of the Church should be there—and indeed it is, in part through the life and faith of women everywhere.
Written in 1995 for the occasion of the Fourth United Nations Conference on Women, this papal letter continues today to reaffirm the dignity of all human persons. A heartfelt expression of gratitude goes out to mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, and to working women and consecrated women.
