St. Tom's organizes groups of Purdue students to tutor and mentor at Lafayette Urban Ministry's Afterschool Program.  Students help the children with their homework, and then read with them or join in recreation.  The most important mission the Purdue students is to care for the children and serve as good models, encouraging them to take their studies seriously and to make a positive difference in this world.
