Haiti Ministry
Serves as a catalyst for solidarity with the people of Haiti & provides an opportunity to grow spiritually through direct ministry with St. Francis Xavier parish and school in Baudin, Haiti. Meets on the third Thursday of every month.
Social Concerns Ministry
The social concerns ministry is committed to educate, inspire, and provide opportunities for the parish to act on local and global issues of social justice. Meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
Alternative Break Trips

Family Promise
St. Tom's is a member of this interfaith organization committed to helping low-income families achieve independence by addressing the underlying causes of homelessness. For one week, 4 times per year, St. Tom's houses homeless families in this program. Please sign-up here!
Mother Theresa Fund
We assist needy people by providing financial assistance to the Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM).
Hunger Hike
This annual event (2 mile hike or 4.5 mile run) benefits LUM, Food Finders Food Bank, and St. Tom's relief and development efforts in Haiti.
Jubilee Christmas
An ecumenical program organized through LUM to help low-income families experience the joy of Christmas giving. Volunteers pair up with parents to select gifts for their children in a dignified manner from generous donations.
Food Collection Weekends
St. Tom's collects food items the first weekend of every month for the St. John's/LUM Food Pantry to help provide groceries for hungry local families.

A compelling adult justice formation and action program that investigates our rich Catholic social teaching tradition and its application in modern issues
J-Walking
Also known as Justice Walking, J-Walking is a small group conversation process that initiates older teens and adult coordinators into life affirming relationships, transformed by the gospel, and the application of Catholic Social Teaching. Imagine what would happen to us if we really tried to live the Gospel!
Service Opportunities
Pur your faith into action! A variety of volunteers service opportunities are available through the United Way of Greater Lafayette. For example, volunteer to provide meals at LUM's homeless shelter or help Habitat for Humanity provide modest, well-built housing for low-income familites.
Prayer Vigils
Opportunities to pray for justice concerning specific issues. Examples include: Life Chain - Prayers to end abortion, Prayers to end Hunger & Peace Vigils.
Pax Christi
Join us for the Good Friday Way of the Cross which travels to various sites on Purdue's campus to pray the traditional stations and to reflect on the Gospel conection to modern day justice issues. Also, the third weekend in November, a group travels to Ft. Benning, GA to join in the annual school of the America's Vigil which protests the torture and assassination of thousands of Latin Americans by those trained at this US funded school.
