RE2010

And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them.

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."

And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.

Mark 10:13-16

Religious Education(RE) (3 yr olds - 5th grade)

These classes are taught in the classrooms in the basement of St. Toms. These classes are instructed by qualified catechists that have gone through the Diocese mandated Child Safety Conduct training.

Life Teen (grades 6th-10th)
Life Teen is an interactive program taught by qualified Catholic Purdue college students, the LifeGuides. The LifeGuides have also completed the Diocese mandated Child Safety Conduct training. Life Teen’s mission statement: “Life Teen is an international Catholic movement that serves the Church by providing resources and faith experiences that help lead teens closer to Christ. This is accomplished through a vibrant Eucharistic spirituality and by creating opportunities for teens to grow in their faith.” For more information about the Life Teen program please visit www.lifeteen.com. We are excited and blessed to be a Life Teen parish.

Confirmation (grade 10 and above)
The confirmation class meets 10:30 to 11:30 on Sunday mornings, and prepares the students for the great sacred sacrament of confirmation.  A major focus is on understanding Christ’s teachings through the gospel and through tradition.  Past confirmation classes have had retreats and service projects to prepare them for the sacrament.

  • St. Rose of Viterbo (September 4, 2010)
Rose achieved sainthood in only 18 years of life. Even as a child Rose had a great desire to pray and to aid the poor. While still very young, she began a life of penance in her parents' house. She was as generous to the poor as she was strict with herself. At the age of 10 she became a Secular Franciscan and soon began preaching in the streets about sin and the sufferings of Jesus.
